Recorded live from CNN, includes some bits in addition to speech.
I am quite sure there will be better and cleaner version out there soon, but for now, enjoy this free mp3.
Obama Speech (starts around 1:30)
United States National Anthem
With Obama being the new president of the USA I have just dug out my USA flag…
Did you check out the new http://www.whitehouse.gov ?
They put it up five minutes before he was even sworn in, how nice!
From mashable.com:
Facebook and CNN have released numbers for their live streaming partnership today, which allowed Facebook users to provide live commentary on the CNN feed.
The stats released, as of noon ET:
1. There were 200,000+ status updates through the Facebook integration on CNN.com
2. at that time, 3,000 people commented on the Facebook CNN feed per minute
3. Obama’s Facebook Fan Page has more than 4 million fans and in excess of 500,000 wall posts
As of 11.45am, CNN:
-had served 13.9 million live video streams globally since 6am
-had broken its all time total daily streaming record (from Election Day) of 5.3 million live streams.
Probably why I had to que to view the video.
Firefox screwed around asking for some additional plugin to be installed, while safari just took me directly to the video/facebook stream.

The website went up at 12 noon – exactly. The US Constitution says that the new President is “Officially” President at 12:00 Noon on January 20th, regardless of whether he has been sworn in yet or not. Nobody jumped the gun.

thanks for your comment!
I just saw yesterday, minutes after I had posted people had put up the speech to youtube already. so if you want to enjoy it in even higher quality, I am sure there are plentiful other sources.
being german and living in london I am very excited to see obama take the seat,
finally I can go on holiday in the states again (it is only a mental thing, but anyway.. it is great!)

Hey dude,
Sorry for the late reply. Glad to hear things are going well for you these days! London is a great place to work…if you get a good company ;)
I’m not too local to London at the moment, about 55 miles away – but if I’m up before 14th Feb, I’ll give you a shoit for a beer. Will you be coming back after the 14th? Or is that it for your venture into London?
TF2 – It’s not a bad game, cartoon graphics are a bit crap. The teamwork element is excellent though – really makes people work hard with what they’re doing!
Did you have fun in the snow?
Matt
P.S. Love the site design!
